#GivingTuesday...what the Christmas Season is all about

Maureen Coyle

“Giving Tuesday.”  A pretty cool concept in my opinion.  Started in 2012, it is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and it began with the intent to start an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas season.  I think that is pretty awesome.  And when Sara and I were asked how we would like to handle it, only one place came to mind, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.  Four years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was treated at this amazing hospital.  I feel blessed every day that I was fortunate enough to know the amazing Dr. Tiffany Troso.  She, along with so many other doctors and nurses, helped save my life.  I am forever indebted to them.  And while I could never repay them for the gift they gave me, I can try to give back so that they can continue to help others.  So, today, we chose to give back to them.  With every purchase today, we are going to be giving 15% to MSKCC.  And while it feels amazing to give back, we know it also feels good to cross items off your to-do list.  Teachers gifts, your mother, your sister, your friend.  We have something for everyone.  Let's use today as an opportunity to cross them off your list, all while giving to an amazing hospital.  We can kick off the Christmas season with a gift and a smile!  Now, that is what I call a #givingtuesday.
